Athar Shah Khan Jedi, a renowned poet, playwright, filmmaker and television actor who gained fame from his role as Jedi, has passed away. He was suffering from diabetes and kidney disease for many years.

After getting his primary education from Lahore, Athar Shah Khan Jedi studied from Peshawar to secondary and then graduated from Urdu Science College in Karachi. Later, he did his Masters in Journalism from Punjab University.

He is considered one of the earliest television playwrights and artists.
